Runners (walkers - 24 mo.)

 BACK TO "CLASSES"

The Runners class is designed for little ones who have just started walking thru the age of 24 months. As your little one is becoming more and more capable of exploring the world around him, we work on developmentally appropriate physical, social, cognitive, and emotional skills. The bulk of our time together will be spent exploring our exciting Learning Stations.  Stations include: Arts & Crafts, Construction, Library, Make-believe, and Gym.

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS:
At the start of every class children and parents will participate in Circle time. We will always end our class with Parachute Play, songs, and story-time. The teacher will introduce the stations and what can be done in each area. The stations will stay the same from week to week, however, new ways of exploring the station will be introduced. For example, the teacher will provide a new art activity each week in the Art Station, and the Gym Station will change from week to week providing new and exciting challenges. The Runners class offers an introduction to structure, however, time restraints are never put on the children. They can spend the entire time doing one of the activities, or they can take part in each activity offered. The goal is that you and your child spend quality time doing whatever it is that your child finds to be most interesting. We hope to develop new interests and provide several opportunities to try something new and exciting. Most importantly we want you and your child to have fun learning through play and spending time together.

Play School classes are designed to be enjoyed together as a “Parent/Child” learning experience. Children are never forced to participate in any of the activities, however they should be encouraged to participate by their parent at least two times after the teacher has introduced an activity. Remember that the first 45 minutes of class are designed as a Parent/Child learning experience. The last 15 minutes of class is “Chat Time” for the parents and freeplay for the children. Please use class time to learn through play with your child.

At the end of each class parents will participate in "Chat time" in which they will share experiences based on that week's topic. Not only are the classes a wonderful opportunity for your child to socialize, they are also terrific opportunities for networking with other parents.
